Hunter Merrifield is delighted to be working with Isabel Hospice to find their Trusts & Foundations Manager! The purpose of the role is to raise core targeted and restricted monies each year from grant-making trusts and foundations, to strengthen existing funder relationships, establish new ones and increase the number of multi-year grant commitments. You will manage the delivery of the trusts fundraising strategy and develop the delivery of an annual work plan and pipeline for the trusts fundraising programme.

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000

Contract: Permanent, Full time

Reports to: Community, Events & Corporate Manager (CEC)

Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire (At least 2 days in the office).

Benefits: 25 days annual leave (excluding public holidays) with an additional four days annual leave for the Christmas period, defined contribution pension scheme, free wellbeing services, a health cash plan, monthly contribution to sports or fitness centre and a flexible working hours policy.

Merrifield Consultants are thrilled to partner with Isabel Hospice to find two new Community Fundraisers. Isabel Hospice are a wonderful charity which provides free palliative care and support for patients and their families across Eastern Hertfordshire. Isabel Hospice strive to deliver outstanding services to inpatients and their families through their dedicated staff and passionate volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the CEC Manager the role will be responsible for being proactive in engaging local communities to maximise income generation by developing a plan to gain more supporters. You will be responsible for growing income by developing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, schools and other community groups.
  • Grow income from Community Fundraising through phoning and visiting local Groups, schools & individuals, supporting existing supporters and promoting new fundraising initiatives.
  • Manage and grow income from collection pots and coordinate a collection of these pots on a regular basis.
  • Support our fundraising groups and supporters and generate publicity for their activities.
  • Manage Just Giving and other on-line giving sites for community events, and ensure that donors and participants are thanked in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Co-ordinate volunteer support for community events where this is required.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven experience of community fundraising and volunteer management.
  • Significant understanding of relational fundraising and relational management principles.
  • Managing and updating budget/financial information to achieve income and expenditure targets.
  • Effective project management experience to achieve agreed delivery and outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and organisation skills.
  • Proven ability in building relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to produce written reports and meet deadlines.
  • Confident in networking and operating at senior levels.
